I’m Michael, a
39-year old 48-year-old fat ass. I was a middling Cat 4 racer back in the 1980s. At the time, I was young and lacked focus. A knee injury in 1991 ended my failing cycling career. Now, I’m older and still lack focus, but I’m back on the bike! I even have my renewed license! Of course, I now weigh 235 240 pounds 228 pounds, but still up from my racing weight of around 165. Not bad for someone who’s 6’3″, but a long row to hoe for someone who’d like to be faster. Should prove an interesting project, and this is my blog about it. It’s not as though the world needed anymore vanity blogs…
Hence, the OLD F.at A.ss R.acing T.eam. Old Fart.
You can find me on the roads
east NORTH of Tallahassee, Florida, and even more frequently on the trainer in my garage, or at my office at Maddox Properties in Cairo, Georgia. I frequently show up for rides with the Capital City Cyclists, Tallahassee’s cycling club. I also recommend Higher Ground Bicycle Company, the best bike shop in Florida. Todd, Roger, Marcus, Tyler, Judy, et al. have tolerated me for nearly 10 years, and I don’t think I could find a better shop and a better group of people.
